Biography
MgA. Emil Adamec
Born 11. 11. 1972 in Frydek (Tesin Silesia)

MgA. Emil Adamec is currently in the 7th year of his full-time doctoral studies at the
Faculty of Architecture of Brno University of Technology at the Institute of Theory of
Architecture, where he is working on his dissertation on Traditionalism in Architectural
Education. He is also studying at Charles University in Prague and at the University of
Bologna in Classical Archaeology and Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology. He studied
sculpture, monumental design and conceptual tendencies at the Academy of Fine Arts in
Prague (Prague 1993 - 1999), garden and landscape architecture at the Faculty of
Horticulture of Mendel University in Lednice in Moravia (1993 - 1995) and environmental
engineering at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Czech Technical University in
Prague (1993 - 1994). As part of the global project Acupuncture of the Earth, he has
participated in nearly 100 international sculpture symposia and exhibitions around the
world. His monumental stone and wood sculptures are permanently installed in the
Czech Republic, Austria, China, Israel, Brazil, New Zealand, the United States, Russia,
Hong Kong, Macau, Australia, Slovakia, Taiwan, Vietnam, Spain, Cyprus, Switzerland,
Germany, France, Finland, Slovenia, Romania, Greece, the United Arab Emirates,
Bahrain, Italy and India. He is the author of the first international sculpture park in
Sedlisti and in Hong Kong. His sculptures won second prize in Israel in 2003, first prize
in the USA in 2005 and second prize in China in 2011. His other activities include:
publishing books, organizing symposia, conferences, workshops and summer schools. He
also publishes texts, reviews and articles in professional journals
